Seasonal Water Sports Instructors

Summary of role

At this exciting time in our expanding organisation, Stranraer Water Sports Association, based on Loch Ryan Stranraer, are looking for:

  • Passionate and highly motivated, experienced multi-disciplinary Seasonal Water Sports Instructors
  • We are looking for two individuals to join our small team this season April – October 2026

Working closely with the Chief Instructor, you will support the delivery of a professional, safe and inclusive programme, which builds upon the previous success of the organisation. Our organisation has a wide array of equipment to deliver a vast variety of activities like Sailing, Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Canoeing and Windsurfing.

Seasonal Job – April to October
Contract Remuneration
£15 per hour
Key responsibilities and tasks

What we offer:

  • Minimum of 4 days work per week (28 hours) over 7 days

What we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in water sport tuition
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of water sports safety protocols, procedures and relevant governing body schemes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Successful applicants will subject to PVG legislation
  • Availability between April – October
Personal requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experiences
  • RYA Powerboat L2
  • RYA Dinghy instructor / Windsurf instructor
  • 16-hour first aid qualification
  • BCAB Paddle Sport Instructor / Leader or equivalent SUP course
  • Recognised safety and rescue training e.g. PSRC or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • RYA Powerboat Instructor
  • RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor / Senior Windsurf Instructor
  • RYA Safety Boat
  • BCAB Coach Award in any discipline
  • BCAB Leader Award in any discipline
  • SUP Coach / Leader / Award through a UK recognised organisation.
