Winter doesn’t stop us from getting active, exploring and having fun—both on and off the water!
Our fun-filled sessions for youngsters aged 8-17years, offer exciting activities in a welcoming, friendly and social environment where everyone is encouraged to get involved.
From discovering our coastline and learning about the local environment to working with local organisations and enjoying fantastic pool sessions, there’s always something new to experience.
Kids can build confidence, make friends, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun! So, wrap up warm, bring your enthusiasm and join us this winter for adventures, activities and plenty of fun!

Join us for a Spooktacular Halloween Party! Enjoy games, pumpkin carving, marshmallow toasting, music, and fun with friends. Our spooky evening promises laughter, thrills, and a welcoming community vibe. Friday 30th October from 4.30pm-6.30pm.

Try Curling - Saturday 21st November
Looking for a fun and active experience for all the family? Join us for a 'Try Curling' session at Stranraer Ice Rink, located within the North West Castle Hotel. Learn the basic skills, discover how the game is played and enjoy time on the ice in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Saturday 21st November 11am-1pm.
Coastal Printing - Saturday 28th November
Join us for a fun, hands-on family workshop, led by Diana Hamilton from Accessible Art. Explore the local coastal landscape through cyanotype printing and Gelli Plate experimentation. We'll venture outdoors to gather intriguing natural shapes, textures, patterns and materials, transforming them into striking cyanotype artworks. Saturday 28th November 11am-1pm
Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere - Saturday 9th January 2027
Spanning more than 9,700 sq km of land and sea, Galloway and Southern Ayrshire is alive with remarkable wildlife, precious peatlands and iconic species like red squirrels and black grouse.
From gardens and school grounds, to wild landscapes, the Biosphere is al around us - and a wonderful place to explore.

Nature Weaving - Saturday 16th January 2027
Explore new ways to capture the beauty of the natural world while experimenting with textures, colours and creative techniques. After a short scavenger hunt, you'll transform your found materials into a unique, personalised woven piece. A creative activity, suitable for the whole family. Saturday 16th January 2027 11am-1pm.

Regular Kids and Youth Sessions
Our regular Kids & Youth sessions on Loch Ryan, will return in late March 2027 — and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back!
Kids Sessions
Tuesdays & Thursdays at 4pm. Our instructors will choose what activity we take part in depending on the weather conditions. One week we could be sailing, the next we could be taking part in our pirate treasure hunt.
Youth Sessions
Mondays at 4.30pm, for young people aged 12-17, Youth Sessions are designed for those wanting to give water sports a go for the first time, for people visiting Stranraer on holiday and for regulars to build and develop new skills.
