Nestled on the shores of Loch Ryan, Stranraer is delighted to host SkiffieWorlds 2025. With its rich maritime heritage, breathtaking coastal views, and welcoming community, it’s the ideal place for a world-class rowing championship. 

Stranraer Water Sports Association (SWSA) is proud to host SkiffieWorlds 2025. Dedicated to promoting watersports, we’re passionate about bringing people together through events like this.

Stranraer is located in south west Scotland and is well served by road, rail and ferry transport routes.

By Road: The main roads to Stranraer are the A75 (Dumfries route) and the A77 (Ayr route). Directions to Stranraer waterfront, for SkiffieWorlds, will be well signposted within the town. 

By Rail: Stranraer's train station is a 20 minute walk from Stranraer waterfront. Trains to and from Stranraer are operated by Scotrail.

By Bus: If you're travelling to Stranraer by bus, check the Stagecoach timetables for route information. Local bus routes serve the towns and villages around Stranraer, and you'll find downloadable timetables on Dumfries and Galloway Council's website

By Ferry: If you're travelling from Ireland then chances are you're already familiar with Cairnryan ferry terminal! Stranraer waterfront is a 10 minute drive from the ferry, with daily sailings to and from Belfast (StenaLine) and Larne (P&O).
